Real Debutante: Abbey
Debutante: Abbey | Partner: Adam
Why did you want to make your debut?
It’s a big event in our area and I’ve always wanted to be apart of it. Having been a guest and volunteer at previous events let me see how much my siblings and friends enjoyed their night and made me so excited for my turn! Lots of my friends made their deb with me too so it was awesome to experience this night with them.
How did you choose your partner?
I’ve been close with Adam since we were little. We went to kinder together then got split up during primary and secondary years, but we were still close as we played at the same netball and football club for many years.
Did your ball have a theme?
Yes, the theme was vintage circus
How did you find the experience of shopping for a debutante gown?
I am very, very picky and wanted to find the perfect dress. Surprisingly the dress I bought ended up being the first one I tried one. I loved it, but as it was the first one I tried on, I didn’t know if I would love other ones more. So, I tried on others but nothing compared with that first dress. My sister got her dress from Bendigo Bridal
and we were really happy with the dress and their service. I didn’t feel at all pressured into buying my gown at the initial stage and Bron was so friendly and helpful making our decision to return and buy the dress simple!
What did you love about your debutante gown?
I loved the back and the design on the front of the dress, it was very unique. As well as the extra touch of lace in the skirt which made it look amazing. It was so easy to get in and out of on the night and was so comfortable to dance in, didn’t rub anywhere!
Any words of wisdom for future debutantes?
ENJOY IT! The night goes so quickly! Once makeup and hair are done and you put on your dress the rest of the night goes in minutes! Just take the moment in and have as much fun as you can! Oh and also when trying on your dress, make sure you practice spinning and dancing in it so that you know you’ll be comfortable on the night!.
