our history

Bendigo Bridal Collections is a family owned local business which has been supplying beautiful gowns, jewellery and accessories since 1991.

Originally part of the iconic 1950s store McCalmans, Bendigo Bridal Collections became a stand alone business in 1991 with the delightful Dot Lee and Joan Hooper at the helm.

The turn of the century started a new era for Bendigo Bridal Collections with Dot Lee going it alone and today’s owner Bron McQueen becoming the store seamstress. The two worked together, making dreams come true for brides and debutantes until Dot’s retirement in 2012.

Since 2012, Bendigo Bridal Collections has continued to grow and takes pride in offering the highest level of customer service and quality. We offer a complete service from choosing your gown, to styling and fitting it perfectly.

We believe it is an honour to be a part of your special occasion and we are truly thankful to local families for letting us share their day.
We look forward to continuing the tradition of providing outstanding service and quality gowns for beautiful brides and debutantes now, and into the future.

Bron McQueen

Born in Gippsland, Bron was the youngest of five children to her parents Jim and Lois Chester. Throughout her childhood her passion for fashion began and at age 16 she started Fashion School.

Bron graduated from Fashion School in 1999 and worked in various roles in the Melbourne fashion industry. Following her heart to Bendigo in 2003, she began working at Bendigo Bridal Collections as the store seamstress with then-owner Dot Lee.

In 2006, Bron married Tony McQueen and they have since had three beautiful children: Keira, Charlise and Tate. It was a dream come true in 2012 when Bron purchased Bendigo Bridal Collections from the retiring Dot Lee. Striving to continue Dot's amazing tradition of "making brides beautiful," Bron and her brillant team take pride in making your special day all you have dreamed of now and into the future.
