Real Bride: Angela

Bride: Angela   |   Groom: David

How did you meet your husband?

Dave and I met at work on a flight to Singapore where we were both cabin crew. Once we got to Singapore he messaged me asking where to find good pizza and my response was "Google it". From there we spent the night messaging and our story began.

How did your partner propose to you?

A year and a half after meeting we were on another work trip to Singapore (Christmas day 2018) and we went for a walk around the bay. He took me to a secluded roof top over looking Marina Bay and he told me he loved me and wanted me to be his wife. I responded with "please don't say that until you mean it" and then he pulled a ring out of his pocket...I cried and forgot to say yes haha.

What was your favourite part of your wedding day?

Walking down the aisle and seeing Dave's calm face, really made me relax. I hadn't seen him for 3 days so it was so good to see him up there looking handsome and waiting for me. Also having our family and friends look so happy sharing in our special day.

Did you have a theme or concept for your wedding day? What was your inspiration?

Our wedding was a lunch time wedding and on a beautiful garden property in Mt Evelyn in the Dandenong ranges. So our theme was more traditional and classic.

How did you find the experience of shopping for a wedding gown?

I had only been engaged for 2 weeks and my Mum and Grandma wanted to go looking. Bendigo Bridal was the first shop we went to one afternoon at around 4.15pm. We were expecting to walk straight out as we didn't have an appointment and didn't know how the wedding dress buying process went. However Bron welcomed us and I had no idea what I wanted. She brought me about 5 dresses and 20 mins later I had chosen the perfect dress for me. To me I thought the dress would be the hardest part but it turned out to be the easiest decision.

What did you love about your wedding gown?

I felt so elegant and comfortable in my dress. I didn't want to take it off at the end of the day and told my husband I wanted to wear it every single day where he responded "you can do that if you want to". I felt so beautiful and it fit me perfectly thanks to Bron.

Any words of wisdom for future brides?

Don't umm and ahhh too much. Trust your own judgement when deciding what dress to pick, what venue, food, decorations etc. If you keep questioning your decisions you will drive yourself crazy and cause unnecessary stress. Your wedding day will be the best day of your life so don't sweat the small stuff as it does not matter. I was tossing up between 2 dresses because of what other people said, but in the end what I thought ended up being the best decision.
