Real Bride: Meggi

Bride: Meggi   |   Groom: Asha

How did you meet your husband?

Asha and I met through mutual friends of ours. However I moved away to WA where we caught up again almost 2 years later as Asha was fly in fly out working in WA

How did your partner propose to you?

Asha got down on one knee in his jocks in the wee hours of the morning on fly out day! I was 6 months pregnant with our daughter and for us it was the perfect proposal simple and very sweet Asha had planned on doing it the night before however the nerves got the better of him.

What was your favourite part of your wedding day?

Our first looks! Having the emotion of seeing each other for the first time was just beautiful! Also gave us a quiet moment to share with our little girl! The pictures captured of Asha’s reaction are my favourite!

Did you have a theme or concept for your wedding day? What was your inspiration?

Asha and I had a very small elopement ceremony with no set colour scheme however our theme and our saying between each other is “just us” and it summed up our wedding day beautifully.

How did you find the experience of shopping for a wedding gown?

Bron and the girls at Bendigo Bridal Collections made wedding dress shopping a much more calm experience than I had imagined. Bron encouraged me to try on gowns I wouldn’t necessarily have chosen for myself and it certainly paid off! The girls were also very patient with me when I changed my mind on the whole gown before the wedding.

What did you love about your wedding gown?

The lace detailing and train of my gown was just stunning. Bron did an exceptional job of fitting my gown to perfection and teaming it with my sheer veil to still show off the back of the gown!

Any words of wisdom for future brides?

Remember this is your day with your future husband, just relax and enjoy every moment because the next day you’ll want to do it all over again!
